Is it possible to create a split level Home interior? What I would like to do is place a stairway and then elevate a floor to the top of those stairs. The main action of the scene would take place on the floor at the top of the stairs, with some action traveling down the stairs to the home's front door
which has a foyer. I could post an actual photo if it would help.

Just use a texturable cube (found in the building blocks folder), stretch its width and length and height and voila, there's a floor. Move it into Position and then use TOOLS -> LOCK SELECTED OBJECTS to keep you from moving it around accidentally.
