Helicopters Needed - comlockfilms - 10-18-2006

Hi! I'm looking for some helicopters.
I'm not a 3D model maker, so I don't know how to make them.

I'd like to have a Police Helicopter (for example, Eurocopter A-star with sun gun) and Military Helicopters (Huey, Blackhawk, Cobra).
Does anyone has suggestions? :?:

hope you went to it

Thank you very much!

And..do you have any ideas where I can get a poice chopper?

why dont you just do texturing on one of the choppers in FF?

I'm trying it right now. Sorry, I'm a novice to the 3D modeling world.

Do you have a suggestion to make a Night Sun (Xenon searchlight) with a beam of light for a police helicoper?

Do you need it to be so specific? If not, here's a link to a headlight beam you may be able to use: Simply attach it to the underbelly of the helicopter and it should easily convey the idea:

Also, here there are a couple of movie lights you may be able to use as the housing:

Attached is a quick shot of a chopper with a headlight-- took about 3 minutes to do it. Hope it helps.

yeah you could do one of those. They are good ideas. What i myself would try is just using the building blocks inside of FrameForge and make a cilinder 40% transparent with a yellow color.

That's what the headlight beam is.

With a little more time, I'd make a decal
with the word "POLICE" for the tail, and
maybe a blue-and-white texture for the
craft's body.

Anyway, it's all there for the doin'.

PS: I think the link you posted has
stretched the screen in this thread.
Is that editable?

there, isnt there a police heli in the cop expansion pack?

Also if people need decals or textures done i am much better at that than modeling. Photoshop is god like.

Well, I played around with this a bit and discovered if you take the headlight beam and position it directly on the camera turret of the news copter, it will pivot and tilt WITH the camera mount -- which is an awesome fringe benefit. Also, if you dip the copter low enough, the beam slices into things and looks even more realistic.

In addition, I made a simple texture and 2 decals (for left and right sides of the copter) and now have a very adaptable police copter with a search beam for exciting night time freeway chase scenes.

I'm attaching the texture, decals and a couple of simple screen shots.

(This program rocks beyond words).
