You probably should try a decal over a shirt. I made this for a woman shirt but you can use it as an example of what you can do wth decals

There is a good vest in the World clothing pack (that I have), but the actors of this pack cannot wear contemporary suit pants...

Right-click on the image (or if you're on a Mac with a 1-button mouse, control-click) and the browser should offer an option to download it.

Mine is downloadable and usable cause it's a PNG file with transparency.
What I do is find a reference cloth on google then paste it into Photoshop and then try, calculate and stretch it to fit the best possible.
This one is based on the long sleeve pajamas. Try putting this decal on it.
