Having trouble importing objects. Please help.

I've successfully imported .dae files before, so that's what I'm trying to do and it's not working, though I may have forgotten some essential step. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and/or if there's a better workflow.

My specific problem today:

I'm trying to import a tent for a camping scene, and found this one that's perfect, even if the file size is pretty large: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/tent-0eb...beaf25d824

It's not available in a dae, so I downloaded the smallest version (usdz), then used convert3d.org to convert it to dae. It looked like every other object I've successfully imported, so I did objects/import3Dobject/collada, and it looked normal, gave me the option to reduce the texture resolution, which I did, and it appeared to import (got "loading textures" and "saving object" progress bars), but I don't see it in my object library, or in the corresponding support data folder.

Tried it several more times, playing with the texture resolution, which appeared to be my only option I could modify, and I also tried also creating a new object category folder, which it did create, but still the same result of nothing in the folder within Frameforge or the support folder. What am I doing wrong?

FWIW, I also tried importing the larger, original .fbx file; and I tried importing this super basic tent from this very forum (https://forum.frameforge.com/thread-4876...ort+object). In both cases every Frameforge file import option (object/import3dobject/collada, VRML, FBX, etc) showed the file in question grayed out and unable to import. I also couldn't get convert3d.org or any other free file format converter I could find to recognize either of those file types to make it into a dae.

Got all the same results both before and after updating to the latest Frameforge version 4.2.2.4. I'm on a 2020 iMac (3.6 10-core Intel i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5500, Sonoma 14.2.1) that seems to have no problems running Frameforge otherwise.

Any help you can offer is much appreciated. Thank you!

I have a strange bug happening,
although my "auto adjust master dimmer" is checked, it doesn't correct my exposure. And now, whenever I open a new camera it first shows a totally black screen until i change my f/stop to the widest available (1).
Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Hi

A while back, a filmmaker friend of mine worked on a script of a short movie and started the storyboard he never finished. Actually, he isn't in the business anymore and hands me both script and storyboard.
The thing is, he used FF for MacOS and saved the .previz to the Mac format... I work with Windows and cannot open his project file. And, not to mention, he does not have his computer anymore to export it again !

So before starting from scratch, if I could find a Mac user who would export the file to the Cross Platform format... this would be awesome !

Thank you.

Hi,
In the Object Controls panel, the Elevate button doesn't work for me. I am using Frameforge Storyboard Studio Pro v4.05 on Windows 10. I do have a director's pad controller but this problem occurs whether it's plugged in or not.

When I click the middle button to input an elevate value, whatever the elevate value (height) was before has doubled or more in value; shown in the input box and also the selected object in the view port jumps up to being twice as high.

I've tried to overwrite the value in the input box and apply, but this causes the object to rise higher again, and the value I've input is ignored.

Anyone experience this? How do I solve this issue.

Thanks,

Hi, all.

I'm new to the software, so this might be an easy question. Hope so...

If I set the color of the sun to be a nice sunset orange, the light out of the window of my set changes to orange in every camera view. But characters and props inside my set only get illuminated by orange light in the small camera view windows at the top of the screen (i.e. red/blue camera views). The orange light does not illuminate anything inside the set in the main camera view (the big window, in which I can manipulate characters). And if I choose "Store Shot" from one of the small preview windows (where I can see the orange sunset light working properly), it still doesn't come out in the snapped image. The light is fine outside, but not on anything inside. See the included screenshot

I'm using the Core version, not Pro, if that helps.

Thanks in advance!
