blueprint panel - 1 camera position only
#1
Hi,

I'm storyboarding a scene that has multiple camera positions in a car. When I print the storyboard with the blueprint view next to the camera view, the blueprint is hard for crew to read because there are 9 camera positions shown in a dense area, and it's hard to tell which specific camera is the one currently being referred to in the camera view. Is there a way to automatically tell the software, when creating the final document to print, to only show in the blueprint view the single camera position being illustrated in the camera view box next to it?

Sorry if I've missed it in the manual. Can't seem to find a reference to this.

Make the blueprint view show the area you want, then use the menu command Sets > Blueprint Printing Layout > Lock to Current View. FrameForge will then give the option of updating the blueprint images for all the shots on that set. If you don't want to use the same area for all the shots on the same set, then you'd need to lock the view, resnap the shots that should use that area, update the blueprint and lock again, resnap appropriate shots, and so on.

I have already locked to a tighter view, but there are still a whole load of cameras visible, and I can't really go any tighter without the context becoming meaningless. Is there any way to set it so that the blueprint automatically shows only the single camera position for the shot on the left?

(Trying to attach an image to illustrate my point, but my attempt to submit keeps being rejected.)

I don't really understand the question...

Regarding your attempt to attach an image, what was the extension of the image? This forum should allow images with extensions .jpg, .png, .gif, or .bmp. Was there an error message?

I've tried it as both png and pdf (several times in both formats). File size approx 860kb. Both times they've seems to start loading in that the blue line in the safari browser's address bar moves about 15% across from left to right. But then it freezes there and no matter how long i wait it doesn't load. One time it immediately just returned to the 'post a reply' page and I thought i should test to see if it had loaded by pressing preview and it went to a page that told me the server had dropped connection.

Just put a screengrab on pinterest here: http://pin.it/SqKmQjv

Can you see it?!

Can you see the way it's hard to see which camera in the blueprint view refers to the camera-pov frame on the left?

Either the frame on the left showing the shot composition needs to also have a little symbol that shows the colour of the camera position to which it's connected in the blueprint, or the rest of the camera positions in the blueprint view should be hidden. If I zoom into the blueprint much more it starts to become unclear where each camera position is in the car.

In some frames it's more of a problem than others. For clarity on set it would be great if the other positions were hidden in the blueprint for each shot though.

No, here's what I see on your Pinterest page. No blueprint.

Here's an example I printed. There are 2 cameras in the blueprint, but you can see that the blue camera has a translucent gray triangle emanating from it, indicating that it's the one making the shot.

Was this issue ever addressed? I too would like to have a blueprint only show the camera that is attached to the shot I am on. Right now it shows all the cameras I have on set. I would like to hide those other cameras.
Thanks.
