I built this mock up of a dirigible for a friend who is planning the explosion of a miniature, two metre airship for a TV commercial.
It's a quick build for pre-viz purposes. It will be filmed with 4-6 cameras all shooting at high speeds to create the effect of the miniature pyro being full scale.
FrameForge is being used to predetermine the angles, rigging and height of cameras on the miniature set. The ocean below will matted into a large bluescreen for wide shots but the general sky will be real. It is planned to rig the miniature on a real exterior cliff top, as authenticl sky and sun makes miniatures all the more convincing.
