#1
I need a machete real bad... the swords just don't cut it. I'm sure some talented person could make one.

Thanks...

Harboth,

I can't seem to be able to attach the machete to an actor. Using FF2. ANy thoughts? I'd like the actor to grab it like with a sword.

I have posted a Left hand and a Right hand relationship in the Relationship Forum. That should help.

Thanks for the quick reply...I did d/l the relationship, and I assume it goes into the relationship folder... but for some reason the actors still do not "grab" the machete.

Just in case... I'm using FF3d V2 on a Windows XP SP2 platform.

The relationships must be imported. You cannot just put the file in a folder. Open FF then choose import from the Relationship drop down menu. And then select the file you downloaded. You should be able to follow it from there.

I did not know that relationships had to be imported. I've removed the file, then imported. Looks like it went to the correct folder. But the actor still will not grab it. I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out.

The problem is that the download is renaming the file. It must be just named actor (male).relation

I still can't get the relationship to work. Here's what I've done:

1) download the file
2) correctly rename the file to actor (male).relation
3) start FF, import the relationship

But the actor still does not grab the machete. He can grab any other object, just not the machete.

Any ideas? Am I leaving out a step?

After you import the relationships, I assume you drag the machette onto the set. Then when you select just the machette, do you see a "Relationship available" show up on the lower part of the screen? You might try selecting just the machette AND the actor as well. Also, let me know which actor you are using...it could be that I need to make another relationship for that actor.

When I select ONLY the machete there is no relationship showing.

When I select the Actor AND the machete I see a relationship availble at the lower left corner (in red text if that makes any difference), but all that seems to do is lock the two objects (actor and machete). I still can not get the actor to grab it. Maybe he's afraid? He should be very afraid...bruhahahaha... I digress.

AS for actor I am using the first Caucasian man actor. Is there a different actor relationship for different ethnic actor?

I'm kinda dumb at this sort of stuff. Can you give me a step by step way of d/l, importing, etc. Because I just can not get the actor to grab the machete.

IF it makes any difference when I go to IMPORT therelationship, the description shows as rounded cube : machette in right hand and rounded cube : machette in left hand.

Where did this "rounded cube" thing enter in? Could that be an issue?

Thanks...

Good. Now when the "Relationship available" shows up in red, go to the Relationships drop down menu at the top. Under "Apply Relationship" is there anything listed? If there is, by click on that, the actor should grab the machette.

Harborth,

That did the trick.

Why is it not automatically grabbed like the other objects?

My apologies. I did not know about that drop down menu, guess I should read the manual.

Would be sweet if the grab was auto.

Still, thanks a million!
