Hair for Black Actors
#1
Here is a quick first option simply applying a texture to the existing FF hairstyle. More options will follow, so check back.

The cornrows are great man! Harborth thank you. The FrameForge guys need to thank and hire you, you have helped many people in this community and been completely generous in your actions. I hope one day I will be able to help you. Now I can move forward on my projects thanks to you. Any chance for the afro? 70's style (Low fro) and current (kinky)? Thank you! Choice. P.S One last question. How do I apply these to the characters? I saved in sub folder named hair in textures. I went to textures file but they're not showing up when I go to green screen and choose the textures drop page.

These hairstyles are different from the ones provided by FF in that they are a User created object, NOT an Actor Option. This means that in order to use the hairstyle, you MUST use the entire actor on which I built it. You cannot just use the hairstyle. All of the usual FF options will be available as far as clothing, etc. it's just that this actor comes with this particular hairstyle. This is similar to the "African American Woman with Sunglasses", if you want sunglass on an African American Woman, you use that Actor. [For the record, these were built on Black Multi-Man and Black Woman --gotta love that FF Multi-Man!]

You can place the uzp file in whatever Actor folder you want to put it in (while FF is not running). Then once you open the program, the actor should appear as a drop down when you open whatever folder you placed it in.

Also, the texture will NOT appear in your texture folder because it is something I created. It will download and stay glued on the Actor I put it on, but it cannot be put on different actor. Also, should you "Remove Texture" of the hair in the Green Room, you will not be able to get it back. [This is similar to the Water Cooler in the Office Folder - if you take it to the Green Room and remove the texture of the base (beige with the blue lines) you can't put it back on, because that texture is not in the Texture Folder.] Should this occur, you would have to start over with a new Actor.

What this means is, just because a file you download includes a new texture, it does not mean that particular texture gets stored in your Texture Folder. It remains glued to the specific, individual Object. The textures in your Texture Folder either came with the program, were downloaded from a posting in the Texture portion of the Community site, or you made them yourself.

I think that covers everything. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

The Afros are tough, but if I can get FF to make the Airburst and Shrapnel from the Military Pak texturable, I might have a shot. Smile

JAMES - any chance?

Don't have the expansion pack. So I guess I'll have to deal with what I got. You've been extremely helpful and I appreciate all you have done. So I guess I have what I need to get started. Once again thanks!

Ah, memories. I believe this should about do it. Is there anything else that you need for your film?
