cardboard boxes
#1
Hi!
I´am making a storyboard scene that requiers a lot of cardboard boxes. I also have to place other objects in an open box. The boxes have to be placed on each other. Anyone who can do that for me or give me a tip how to make a object like that?

I am using FrameForge 3d studio 1.

Hi there,

I made a box out of one of the building block cubes and found a cardboard texture with a google search. I'll upload it for you soon.

It doesn'y have logos on it but you should be able to find them on the net and paste em on the texture Smile

... 'coz you can't have enough cardboard boxes...

A fully textured box with hinged flaps.

Also a couple of relationships posted here (although only for version 2 actors):-

Hi,

I am a beginner with FF. I have downloaded some user objects (for instance the cardboard) and the relationships which go with the objects. I have managed to put the object into the library and I have no problem dragging it onto the set however, I don t know have to make the relationship work with an actor.
Thanks in advance for your tip.

First thing is to make sure you've properly imported the relationship into FrameForge by following the instructions for Version 2 actors here:-

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.frameforge3d.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=96">http://www.frameforge3d.com/community/v ... c.php?t=96</a><!-- m -->

If so, then once both the actor and Cardboard Box are on the set, select them both (shift+click) and you should see "Relationship Available" in red down towards the bottom left of the screen. You can then right click on either the actor or box and select the 'Holding Cardboard Box' relationship from the menu.

I followed the instructions but I still cannot manage to make it work.
How do I proceed when a window shows up indicating in the letf column
Cardboard box: holding cardboard box, and the right column currently defined relationship between actor (male) and the following object.
What should I put in the right column? Does the relationship apply to the actor that is in the library or any other characters?
Or is there a character attached to this relationship specifically, in this case when I download it where can I find it? Thank you again...

You need to select 'Cardboard Box: Holding Cardboard Box' in the left column, then click on the '>' button, then OK to import the relationship.

The right hand column is simply a list of all current relationships available for the male or female actors.

Once you've imported the male and/or female relationship, it should then be available for all the standard FrameForge actors.

Please note that if either the Cardboard Box or the actor are scaled before the relationship is applied, then the relationship won't be available.

I followed the instructions, but once the cardboard and a standard FF actor are on the set, and after selecting both objects, I do not see any indication in red at the lower part of the screen. The menu does not include the new relation : holding cardboard, and I have not changed anything regarding the scaling of the objects.
I really cannot figure out what is it I am doing wrong

The only thing I can think of is that you might be trying to apply the relationship to the wrong Cardboard Box object. There are two downloadable boxes in this thread, the relationship will only work with the second Cardboard Box.uzp object (the one with the hinged lid).

I hope this works, otherwise over to Innoventive...

I downloaded the cardboard with PAN written on it and hinged flaps.
I really do not understand why it does not work. Anyway thank you so much for your help.

Yes that's the right one, it works fine for me here.

Have you managed to get other relationships to work? Other than that I'm not sure what else to suggest.
